Thank you for giving us the opportunity to introduce this company to you. We are an overland tour operator running safaris throughout Southern and Eastern Africa. Worldwide has been in operation for over 12 years now and we are proud of the fact that we are the only overland company with operational bases in Cape Town, Victoria Falls, Harare and Nairobi. We also have 2 offices in Australia, which are situated in Perth and Sydney.
Worldwide has a fleet of 25 Mercedes Benz overland trucks, designed for the best safety and comfort for our clients. Our vehicles carry full cooking and camping equipment, cassette players, exterior and interior lighting, roll up PVC sides with windows, lockers, long-range fuel tanks and all the trucks have 300 to 400 liter water tanks.
Our trips vary from 4 day safaris to 77 day overland expeditions. We cater to a wide range of clientele and have something that will suite the needs of every traveler. Our clients range in age and nationality – please bare in mind we do NOT have an upper age limit.
On all our trips we have three crew members. They are the Driver, the Tour Leader and the Safari Cook. All of our crew have a love of the country they travel in, which is one of the most important requirements for our trips. Most of the crew have spent quite a few years travelling though and have extensive knowledge of the countries you are travelling in. We feel that their enthusiasm as well as their experience will guarantee your client will have an unforgettable trip.
The Safari Cook generally does the cooking. Even though we have a cook on board with us we ask our passengers to participate in the preparation on a rota basis with the cooking. Meals and menus vary a great deal, but rest assured we have a reputation for our excellent cuisine. We purchase food daily from many markets and road stalls along the way, which is ably supported by a bulk buy of food prior to departure.
Our trips are camping trips and as such use three person dome tents (but only with two people in them) with sewn in ground sheets, and a separate fly sheet. Most of the time we will be staying in campsites, which have sprung up with the ever increasing demand of the overland companies. All the campsites we use on route have facilities, all though in East Africa some of the campsites are a little more basic than those in Southern Africa.
On our trips our communal kitty is quite high, a point we are proud of. It is this fund that covers all our game park fees, as detailed in the individual trips plus a tremendous amount of other excursions. In addition to the above, the kitty covers three meals a day prepared from the truck as well as all the camping fees. At the end of the trip any monies remaining will be refunded back the clients or used towards the last nights meal.
In the actual tour price a fully equipped Mercedes Bens truck, all cooking and camping equipment, driver, courier and cook are included as well as the highlighted excursions as mentioned in the brochure.
Worldwide is the only overland tour company to have their own offices in East and Southern Africa, which allows us unparalleled support to our passengers and crew, should it be required. Our workshop in Cape Town is frequently use by other overland tour companies. It is fully equipped and available on request.
Worldwide put together and conduct individual charter packages for tour
coordinators from Australia, Germany, Spain and many more countries. With
our knowledge of Africa we will gladly design an itinerary to suit the
needs of any request.
